MailProof
Terms of service

The agreement, in plain words.

Use MailProof to clean lists you have a right to send to. Do not use it to work out which strangers exist.

Last updated 14 July 2026

1. The service

MailProof checks email addresses against publicly available signals — syntax rules, DNS and MX records, and lists of known disposable providers and role accounts — and returns an assessment of whether an address is likely to accept mail.

2. What the results mean, and do not mean

The results are an assessment, not a guarantee. A valid status means the domain exists and accepts mail and nothing about the address raised a flag; it does not certify that a specific mailbox is currently active, and we do not claim otherwise. You remain responsible for how you use your list.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use MailProof to:

  • verify addresses you have no lawful basis to contact, including lists that were scraped, purchased, or otherwise obtained without consent;
  • enumerate or harvest valid addresses at a domain you do not control, whether for spam, phishing, or reconnaissance;
  • send unsolicited bulk email of any kind, using our results or otherwise;
  • place automated load on the service that degrades it for others, or attempt to circumvent the limits described on the pricing page.

We may block access that appears to breach these terms, without notice and at our discretion.

4. Your data

We do not store the addresses you submit. The privacy page sets out exactly what happens to them. You keep every right in the data you upload; submitting it grants us no licence beyond processing it to return your result.

5. Availability

The service is provided as-is, without any warranty of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. It may change or be unavailable at any time. The free tier carries no service-level commitment; paid plans will state their own when they launch.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of MailProof — including lost revenue, damaged sender reputation, or the consequences of a campaign you sent. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months, which on the free tier is nothing.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
